Including your pet on your wedding day!

We all know you love your pet more than people. For most couples I find their pets are their babies, their first born and they want to include that special furball in the wedding day!

Including your beloved furry friend in your wedding can add an extra layer of joy, personalization, and warmth to your special day. Here are some tips on how to make it happen:

You can have your pet at the wedding, whether that is during getting ready time, just at your ceremony or for the whole day!

  1. Plan Ahead: Incorporating your pet into your wedding day requires careful planning. Start by discussing with your partner and your wedding planner (if you have one) how you envision your pet’s involvement. Consider your pet’s temperament, comfort level in crowds, and any logistical challenges that may arise.
  2. Venue Permission: Before making any plans, check with your venue to ensure they allow pets on the premises. Some venues may have restrictions or require additional permits, so it’s essential to clarify this in advance.
  3. Attire: Dress your pet for the occasion! Whether it’s a dapper bow tie for your dog or a floral collar for your cat, there are plenty of adorable options to match your wedding theme. Just make sure the attire is comfortable and safe for your pet to wear.
  4. Assign a Handler: Designate a trusted friend or family member to be in charge of your pet on the big day. This person should be someone your pet is familiar with and who can ensure their needs are met throughout the event, whether it’s bathroom breaks, water, or simply some quiet time away from the festivities.
  5. Consider hiring a pet service. I have come across a few different pet services that offer to bring your pet for a portion of the wedding day and then also provide boarding for them the night of. This is a great option because you do not have to rely on someone at the wedding, you have a professional doing all the work for you. I will tag below some companies that off pet sitting and wedding day services.
  6. Practice Makes Perfect: If your pet will have a specific role in the ceremony, such as ring bearer or flower petal tosser, practice with them beforehand. Familiarize them with their tasks and the venue environment to help minimize any stress or anxiety on the day of the wedding.
  7. Include Them in Photos: Capture precious moments with your pet by including them in your wedding photos. Whether it’s a candid shot of you getting ready together or a formal portrait with your furry companion, these photos will be cherished memories for years to come.

Now if you can’t include your pet physically on your wedding day for various reasons, here are a few super cute ways to still have them their with you!

Bar Napkins, Fat heads, cake toppers, drink stirrers, engagement session pictures, doggy bags to go, signature cocktail names, add their pictures to bar signs, add them to your invitation, save the date, a picture on your wedding bouquet.
